The Lord Takes Delight in His People

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. — Psalm 149:4

Yesterday my company surprised me with a celebration lunch for my retirement.

So many people from across the bank stopped by to wish me well.

The commercial team gave me flowers.

And my consumer team gave me tickets to the next opera season.

I am blessed to have made many good friends over my six years here.

My final four days are definitely bittersweet.

God takes delight in his people!

 

The Lord Delights in His People

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. — Psalm 149:4 

God takes delight in His creation.

The beauty of our world.

The majesty of palm trees.

The refreshing water.

And the colors of the sunset.

He created us, too.

And He delights in His people.

He is saddened when we turn away from Him.

But He crowns the humble with victory.

For the Lord takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with victory. — Psalm 149:4

God delights in His people.

He is pleased with me when I follow Him.

He crowns the humble with victory.

Today we visited Normandy and walked along Utah beach.

What a humbling experience to witness the tombstones of those who fought for our country and for freedom overseas.

It's hard to believe all the obstacles they overcame and the way they persevered to take these areas.

Very humbling.

Saturday I walked along La Jolla Shores beach with some friends.

What a beautiful morning!

The temperature was perfect as we hiked down to Black's Beach.

The water was amazingly blue.

My hiking buddy Jen joined us.

She was impressed with all of my wonderful friends.

They are great people, and I am so blessed to know each one.

God takes delight in His people.

He crowns the humble with victory.

Help me, Lord, to be more humble.
