Pursue Righteousness

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. — Proverbs 21:21

This was a rough week at work.

My coworker came to me this morning because he was being written up with a bad performance review and a performance improvement plan.

He's celebrating his 8th year with our company but has lost all confidence in his skills.

So we prayed for God's will to be done in his life and career.

That windows and doors would open for him as he seeks God's direction.

At the end of the day another employee came to me distraught because she had been told she wasn't meeting expectations.

She has only been with us 6 months, but hasn't had the guidance she could have used to gain confidence in her new role.

And it makes me sad to see a place where people once thrived turn into a place of discouragement and despair.

Help me, Lord, to pursue righteousness in you.

To support my coworkers through these tough times.

To love others.

To find my life, prosperity, and honor in you.

Whoever Pursues Righteousness

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor. — Proverbs 21:21

Here's our hiking group.

We were relaxing at the waterfall after our 3.5-mile hike.

We prayed together and thanked God for the beautiful day.

Then we headed back up the trail.

And waded through the streams.

And checked in with the rangers at the trailhead.

Thanking God for a fun day!

The Lord Forms the Light

I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things. — Isaiah 45:6b-7

Palm Desert Sunset 2017
God forms the light to guide us during the day.

He creates darkness to help us sleep well at night.

He brings prosperity and creates disaster.

He is the Lord and there is no other.

The Lord accomplishes all of these things.

At the same time, He does not shower blessings just because I follow His way.

He leads me through the path of difficulty, giving me a chance to grow closer to Him and to rely on Him more and more.

He asks me to follow Him no matter what occurs.

And He continues to bless me, even through the tough times.

The Lord does all these things.
