Revere Christ as Lord

In your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, — 1 Peter 3:15

Honor and revere Christ as Lord.

Let our hearts show forth our respect and honor for Jesus.

He is the reason for the hope that we have.

And He commands us to be prepared.

So that when someone is confused, we are ready and prepared to share the hope that we have in Jesus.

And to share that hope with gentleness and respect.

In Your Hearts Revere Christ as Lord

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, — 1 Peter 3:15

Jesus Christ is Lord.

And we are commanded to revere Him.

God asks us to be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks us to give a reason for the hope we have.

And to do this with gentleness and respect.

So that others, too, can come to know Jesus as their personal Savior.

Always Be Prepared

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. — 1 Peter 3:15

God calls us to be prepared.

24/7 ready to give an answer.

To everyone and anyone who asks to know the reason for the hope that I have.

But to give that reason with gentleness.

To respect the person I'm talking to and with.

To live out the hope that I have in Jesus.

Two weeks ago we celebrated James and his bride-to-be with a wedding shower.

Very fun time with family and friends and new acquaintances.

Prepared to share our hope in Jesus with others.

Christ As Lord

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. — 1 Peter 3:15

Help us, Lord, to revere you in our hearts.

And to honor Jesus as Lord.

Guide us and give us your wisdom so we can be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks.

Help us to give the reason for the hope that we have.

So we can be respectful of others.

And patient and gentle with them when they just don't comprehend.

Remembering that we were once in that state of mind, too.

And you had mercy on us, even then.

Lord of Both the Dead and the Living

Whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. — Romans 14:8-9

During this season of Lent, we remember Christ's death and resurrection.

We belong to the Lord.

We have been adopted into His family.

For our sake, Christ died and came alive again.

Jesus did this so we would be able to live with Him forever.

He is Lord of the dead as well as of the living.

Today Abby got a letter from PLNU that she is eligible for a COVID vaccine since she is doing fieldwork in a middle school as a counselor.

We are thankful for God's mercy and grace.

Christ Returned to Life

For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. — Romans 14:9

Kirk Golfing Torrey Pines
On Monday Kirk went golfing with friends at Mission Bay.

Last week they went to Torrey Pines and he had a good day.

He met with his golf instructor on Thursday and really did well, hitting some very impressive shots.

The lessons really seem to be paying off.

Our neighbor Stan took this great photo of Kirk at Torrey Pines.

What a beautiful day!

Giving Thanks for You

For this reason, ever since I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all God’s people, I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. — Ephesians 1:15-16

I am thankful for my friends who are praying for me and my CT scan today.

And for the nurse Bela who managed to get the IV in my arm after a couple of tries.

She even prayed when it didn't work the first time, and I joined her.

She told me about a doctor she used to work with who also prayed for his patients.

What a blessing!

I should have the results in a couple of weeks.

If everything is ok, they will send me a letter.

My doctor said I'm probably fine, but we just needed to make sure so we don't worry since I have a slightly swollen area in my neck.

I have not stopped giving thanks for my friends and family members and prayer warriors, remembering them in my prayers.

Always Be Prepared

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. — 1 Peter 3:15

Yesterday I made oatmeal bread.

Of course, it was best warm, but it is very tasty.

I have another recipe to try that includes butternut squash in the recipe.

Now that I have some cooked, I can try that one, too.

God calls us to revere Christ as Lord.

And to be prepared to give the reason for the hope we have in Him.
