So do not fear for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. — Isaiah 41:10
God is with me.
He is my God.
He gives me strength and helps me.
This week I discovered a lump in my arm.
I'm not sure if it was from pulling weeds or sitting too long at my computer, or what.
It may be lymphedema so I will talk with my oncologist on Thursday.
And I will see my doctor to determine if I need to see a lymphedema therapist or if it will go away.
For now, I've stopped jumping rope and lifting weights.
I've also stopped doing jumping jacks until I find out more.
But God gives me strength and helps me through this time.
Turning to God's Word for encouragement and support during the diagnosis and treatment for cancer.

God's Servant
I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you. — Isaiah 41:9
For the past few days we have been shellacking our completed puzzles.
When they're dry, we can hang them in our garage along with the one Kirk and I finished years ago.
Here's the one that reminds us of the trip Abby and I took to San Francisco in February.
So glad we had a chance to do that together before the shelter in place began.
We had a great time and are looking forward to our next trip together.
Hopefully all three of us will be heading to Palm Desert for a week in July.
God called us from wherever we were.
He calls us servants.
He has chosen us.
We are blessed.

The Heavens Are the Lord's
The highest heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth he has given to mankind. — Psalm 115:16
When Abby and I went for a walk a couple of weeks ago, we saw this beautiful bank of flowers, and she took this photo.
What a blaze of color!
The highest heavens belong to the Lord.
The earth is His, and the fullness thereof.
He has given the earth to humankind.
We are its caretakers.
We don't always do a very good job caring for the earth.
But God guides us in the way we should go.
And He gives us these beautiful plants and flowers for us to enjoy.

Joyful in Hope
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. — Romans 12:12
Saturday night I made a coffee cake.
It was supposed to be a walnut coffee cake.
During this coronavirus time of social distancing, I wanted to make sure to conserve our foods
Kirk and I are trying to avoid going to the store.
So instead of 1 1/2 cups of sour cream, I used 1/2 cup plus 1 cup of vanilla yogurt.
Instead of walnuts, I used chopped pecans.
And I used 2 eggs plus 1/4 cup of water instead of 3 eggs.
It still turned out great.
I think it will be delicious.
God calls us to be joyful in hope and patient in afflication.
He also asks us to be faithful in prayer.
I'm not always faithful in my prayers, but God helps remind me to continue to talk to Him in prayer.

Christ Lives in Me
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:20
The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God.
Jesus loved me and gave himself for me.
I have been crucified with Christ.
I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
Friday my sister-in-law was on her deck in Virginia when the Blue Angels did a fly-over.
She caught them in the air in this photo taken from her phone.
Fortunately, she did not have to join the crowds to see the fly-over.

May God Cause You to Flourish
May the Lord cause you to flourish, both you and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. — Psalm 115:14-15
Today is a bright, sunny day.
These are the flowers we had in our front courtyard.
They died after we had the house tented for termites, but now they are coming back!
They are called, "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow."
How fitting.
We have been so surprised and blessed by the plants that are returning to make our home beautiful.
They are flourishing!
Today I pray that you may flourish, too.
That God will cause you and your children to flourish, even during this difficult time.
May you be blessed by the Lord.
He is the Maker of heaven and earth.
Of you and me!
Today is my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Becky. May you flourish!

God Remembers Us
The Lord remembers us and will bless us: He will bless his people Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron, he will bless those who fear the Lord — small and great alike. — Psalm 115:12-13

God remembers me and cares for me.
Even when I don't feel blessed, He remembers me.
He blesses small and great alike.
Even though we don't deserve it.
He is our loving Father.
God loved me so much that gave His Son to die for me.
Happy May Day!
