We Have Fellowship With One Another

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. — 1 John 1:7

God is light.

He purifies us with the blood of His Son, Jesus.

And if we walk in that lights, we have fellowship with one another.

The blood of Jesus Christ purifies us from all sin.

Thanks be to God.

The light of our lives.

God Did Not Send His Son into the World to Condemn

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. — John 3:17

Yesterday we hosted the summer fellows and interns serving at our church.

We had a fun time of food and fellowship together.

And today we celebrate Memorial Day.

Remembering those who gave their lives for our country.

Here's a photo of Arlington Cemetary.

Today we honor those who gave of themselves to make sure we can live in freedom.

We thank God for each of  them.

We Have Been Reconciled

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! — Romans 5:10

Even while we were God's enemies, He reconciled us to himself.

Only through the blood of His Son Jesus was this possible.

How much more, then, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His life!

God is our salvation.

And Jesus shed His blood for us.

Providing the ultimate sacrifice so that we can live with Him in heaven one day.

Crucified With Christ

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. — Galantians 2:20

Our sermon series this month is reading through Galatians.

During this Eastertide, we are reminded that we have been crucified with Christ.

I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.

The life I live is by faith in Jesus, the Son of God.

I now live in the body of Christ.

He loved me before I even knew Him.

And He gave himself for me.

God Showed His Love For Us

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. — 1 John 4:9

God showed His love among us.

He sent His one and only Son Jesus into the world.

So that we might live through Him.

Jesus, our Savior.

Kirk met with some of his friends from high school today: Ernie, Manuel, Josie, and Joe.

Friends for life!

This Is Love

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. — 1 John 4:10

God is love.

And those who abide in God, abide in love.

He loved us.

And he sent His only Son as a living sacrific for our sins.

An atoning scrifice.

You Have Found Favor With God

The angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” — Luke 1:30-33

The angel told Mary not to be afraid.

She had found favor with God.

And as a result, she would be the mother of the Son of God, Jesus.

He was part of the lineage of King David.

And He will reign forever.

His kingdom will have no end.

And we can live with Him forever.

Happy New Year!

A Child Is Born

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. — Isaiah 9:6

On Christmas Eve Sunday we went to our church services - twice!

It was a great way to celebrate Christmas Eve.

With worship and song and candlelight.

And we had Kirk's family over for potato soup — which they cooked and brought over!

Delicious!

Today we had my brothers over for Christmas Day for ham.

And Steve made some delicious potatoes, which we finished off completely.

Plus he brought twice-baked potatoes for us to have later this week.

Wonderful days with family.

We are blessed.

She Will Give Birth to a Son

But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.” — Matthew. 1:20-21

An angel appeared to Joseph in a dream.

Telling him to take Mary as his wife.

And promising that she would give birth to son, born of the Holy Spirit.

The baby's name would be Jesus.

Because He will save His poeple from their sins.

And we are grateful.

We owe Him our lives.

God Sent His Son, Born of a Woman

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. — Galatians 4:4-5

God sent His Son, Jesus to be born as a Baby.

The timing was according to His plan — when the time had fully come.

Jesus was born of the virgin Mary.

He suffered under Pontius Pilate.

And was crucified, dead and buried to redeem us from our sin.

The third day He rose again from the grave.

Redeeming those of us under the law.

That we might be adopted as sons and daughters of the Lord God.

Call Him Immanuel

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel. — Isaiah 7:14

God gave us a sign that His Son would be born.

The prophets foretold it long before it happened.

The wise men saw the star in the East.

The angels told the shepherds.

And Anna and Simeon waited in the temple to see Jesus, our Lord.

Jesus, Immanuel, God with us.

What a Savior!

God Has Spoken to Us by His Son

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom also he made the universe. — Hebrews 1:1-2

We had such a fun weekend with friends visiting wineries and meeting the families running them.

Here we are at Barr Winery.

A great recommendation, and a beautiful day.

We are so thankful to God for blessing us with this time.

But of course, His best gift is His Son, our Savior Jesus.

God has spoken to us through Jesus.

Whom God appointed to be heir of all things.

And through Jesus God also made the universe.

The One and Only Son is Himself God

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and[a] is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. — John 1:18

We have never seen God.

Only Jesus has seen His Father.

And Jesus has made Him known to us.

After all, Jesus is the one and only Son.

He is himself God.

He Graciously Gives Us All Things

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? — Romans 8:32

God did not spare His own Son.

Rather, He gave Jesus up for us all, even before we knew Him.

He graciously gives us all things.

Now He asks us to give our lives as a living sacrifice.

To share the Gospel of Jesus to all those we meet.

Whoever Has the Son Has Life

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. — 1 John 5:12

God has given us eternal life through His Son.

He paid the penalty for us before we ever knew Him.

Whoever has the Son of God has life.

Whoever does not nave the Son of God does not.

It's rather simple.

Those of us who have Jesus with live with Him forever.

You Are the Son of the Living God

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” — Matthew 16:15-16

Jesus asked Peter who people were saying He was.

The answers were all over the board.

But then Jesus asked Peter directly.

Who do you say I am?

And Peter knew immediately.

Lord, help me to know you as Messiah.

And as the Son of the living God.

My Savior and Lord.

He Is in the Light

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. — 1 John 1:7

God is light.

If we walk in the light of His Son Jesus, we have fellowship with one another.

And the blood of Jesus becomes the way for our salvation.

It purifies us from all sin.

What a huge blessing.

And what a mighty, merciful God and Savior.

The Son of Man

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. — Luke 19:10

Jesus came to seek us out and to save us.

All of us.

And His creation lets us know how much He cares for us.

His ultimate sacrifice on the cross shows us His love.

While we were still sinners, He died for us.

We are grateful.

Reconciled to God Through His Son

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! — Romans 5:10

This week after Easter, it's comforting to realize that God loved us, even before we knew Him.

While were God's enemies He reconciled us to Him.

He didn't wait for us to get it right!

He reconciled me to Him through the death of His Son, Jesus.

Having been reconciled to Him, how much. more will I be saved through His life!

I am so blessed that God love me and always keeps His promises.

The Radiance of God's Glory

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. — Hebrews 1:3

Jesus is the radiance of God's glory.

He is the exact representation of God's being.

He sustains all things by His powerful Word.

Abby provided us with the centerpieces for our Easter dinner.

These flowers remind me of God's goodness and love.

Jesus now sits at the right hand of his Father in heaven.
