Come Into the Light

Whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God. — John 3:21

This year Kirk and I celebrate 35 years of marriage.

Our daughter is throwing us an anniversary party at the end of October.

I am blessed to have married such a strong and loving Christian man.

We did not have a limo, but when we arrived at our reception and saw this one parked outside, our photographer suggested we take a photo.

It turned out really great.

And God has overwhelmed us with blessings throughout our marriage.

Even through the dark times, God has brought us into the light of his mercy and grace.

We are thankful.

Rejoicing in Our Children and Our Dad

The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. — Proverbs 23:24

Today is Father's Day, and we are celebrating Kirk.

He is an awesome dad, husband, uncle, teacher, mentor, friend, and encourager. He shares wisdom with our family and with his students and colleagues. We are grateful.

Kirk has raised up Abby to be a righteous woman of God, and has passed on his wisdom to her.

We are grateful that he is a strong Christian and a servant of God who cares about his family and friends.

We thank God for his strength of character, his integrity, and his compassion.

One day a year is not enough to celebrate this amazing guy.

Today as we worship God, we are also thanking him for bringing Kirk into our lives.

Shout for Joy!

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—shout for joy before the Lord, the King.  — Psalm 98:4-6

Flowers from Axos Bank Employees
Yesterday I drove back into work for the first time since my surgery.

I was overwhelmed with wonderful food including fruit, coffee cake, muffins, croissant sandwiches, a chocolate genache cake and two bouquets of flowers! Here's one.

One of my coworkers even lent me his ergonomic anti-fatigue mat so I could use it while standing at my computer. When I offered to return it that afternoon, he encouraged me to keep it for a week until I decided if I want to get one of my own.

I am blessed by wonderful people who kept asking about how I was doing.

After work, I met with my prayer accountability group, and they are such encouraging and supportive Christian women.

Thank you, Lord, for surrounding me with such a blessed support team.

Today we are shouting for joy!

Our Good, Good Father

The Lord will do what is good in his sight. — II Samuel 10:12

I am surrounded by God's grace, which I did nothing to earn. I am never alone but instead part of the Christian community.

My support is in those who pray for me and my family. My hope is in God.

In God alone, Christ alone, I put my trust.

Christ's peace prevails.

God is good.
