God Has Saved Us

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, — 2 Timothy 1:9 

Tomorrow we'll have a chance to visit Megan's new baby, Daphne.

Her grandpa has been visiting from Ohio to help take care of her.

God has saved us and called us to a holy life.

Not because of anything we have done.

But only because of His own purpose and grace.

This grace was given to us in Christ Jesus.

Before the beginning of time.

We Should Love One Another

For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. — 1 John 3:11

God's Word has been proclaimed to us from the beginning.

We have written it in our hearts.

And bind it around our foreheads.

And post it on our doorposts.

So that at all times we can be reminded to love others.

Just as God has commanded us from the beginning.

In the Beginning Was the Word

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. — John 1:1-2, 14 

God created the world in the beginning.

And He was the Word.

Jesus, the Word, was God.

And He was with God in the beginning.

Jesus is our Word of Life.

This week we traveled to Paso Robles.

God provided us with a beautiful time to connect with friends old and new.

Knowledge of the Holy One Is Understanding

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. — Proverbs 9:19 

Being in awe of the Lord God is a way of drawing us to His wisdom.

And I need His guidance in my life each day.

More often than note, I rely on myself instead of turning to God.

But when I get into His Word and talk with God each day in prayer, I begin to walk in His wise ways.

And I start to think before I speak.

I begin to wait for His counsel and advice before I take action.

And I start to understand His will for me on a much deeper level.

Knowledge of the Lord, the Holy One, is the beginning of understanding Him and His ways.

Kirk's golfing buddy gave us tickets to join him for the Aztec game on Saturday. 

They didn't play well - at least the football players didn't, but the band was awesome!

We Should Love One Another

For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. — 1 John 3:11

God has sent us His Word.

And we have known it from the beginning.

He has written it in our hearts.

But we still manage to ignore it.

God commands us to love each other.

Even those who appear to be unloveable.

Help me, Lord, to love others.

To God Belongs Eternal Praise

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. — Psalm 111:10

It's hard to believe that today is the final day of November.

Tomorrow starts a new month.

The month after that begins a new year - 2024!

And throughout the years, God's love and wisdom remains constant.

Living in awe of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

All who follow God's precepts have understanding.

To the Lord belongs eternal praise!

The Fear of the Lord Is the Beginning of Wisdom

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. — Proverbs 9:10 

Holding God in reverence and awe is the beginning of wisdom.

And knowledge of Jesus, the Holy One is understanding.

I'm on the beginning path.

Just continuing to learn about God and His Word.

And getting to know His Son Jesus better each day.

This We Proclaim

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched—this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. — 1 John 1:1 

While in Palm Desert, Abby got this sunrise photo one morning on an early walk.

I love the reflection of the Palm trees in the water.

And the pinks and blues of the clouds.

It reminds me of God's creation.

That which we have seen with our eyes.

Which we have looked at and our hands have touched.

This we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

That Jesus is Lord and lives in heaven.

The Place of Our Sanctuary

A glorious throne, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary. — Jeremiah 17:12 

In our busy lives, it's often hard to set aside time to rest and be quiet.

But God is the creator of our sanctuary.

His glorious throne was exalted from the beginning.

This is the place of our sanctuary.

We need to simply rest in the Lord.

He is the place of our sanctuary.

Remain in the Son

As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us—eternal life. — 1 John 2:24-25

We have heard from the beginning that God is our Creator.

And that Jesus is our Savior.

God's Word remains in us.

Jesus promises us eternal life.

As we head in to the new year, we celebrate the new life that God has given us through His Son.

We rejoice in Jesus our Savior.

Remain in the Son

As for you, see that what you have heard from the beginning remains in you. If it does, you also will remain in the Son and in the Father. And this is what he promised us—eternal life. — Luke 2:24-25 

We have heard from the beginning that God is our Father.

He created the world and all that is in it.

We have heard from the beginning that Jesus and God are one. 

God wanted 'us to remain with Him.

And He promised us eternal life!

Called to a Holy Life

He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. — 2 Timothy 1:9

God has saved us.

He has called us to a holy life.

We cannot achieve that by our own power.

But only by his own purpose, because of His grace.

His grace was given to us in His Son, Jesus, before the beginning of time.

We are blessed.

And thankful to God that He provides work for us to do.

He calls us to a holy life.

Not because of anything we have done.

But only because of God's own purpose and grace.

Jesus gave us this grace through His death on the cross.

He was with God and was God before the beginning of time.

God has had mercy on us.

We are thankful.

The Word Was God

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. — John 1:1-2

How cool is that.

Jesus was in existence with God in the beginning.

He was and is God.

He is not another of God's creations like me.

Instead, He is my Savior God.

Very hard to understand, but I am grateful.

Help me, Lord, to follow you today.

The Hope of Eternal Life

In the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior. — Titus 2-3

God promised us before the beginning of creation that we have the hope of eternal life.

People may not always be able to keep their promises.

But God always keeps His promises. He does not lie.

He has brought to light the hope of eternal life in Christ Jesus.

We worshiped online today, sheltering at home with our family.

It was hot and sunny, but I got out for a walk with a friend at 7:30, before it got too warm.

We saw a small bunny running our way up the sidewalk.

He had no fear.

We can have no fear knowing that God is with us.

Eternal Praise to God

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. — Psalm 111:10

Knowing, respecting, and honoring God is the beginning of wisdom.

We are in awe of Him and His blessings.

All who follow God's precepts and laws have good understanding.

To God belongs eternal praise.

I want to praise Him every day with my thoughts, words, and actions. 

Our God is awesome!





Eternal praise belongs to Him alone.

The Spirit of Truth

When the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me  and you also are witnesses, because you have been with me from the beginning. — John 15:26-27


Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to us from his Father.

The Spirit of Truth.

The Counselor.

Who bears witness to Jesus.

And who comforts and convicts us when we are going through hard times or temptations.

When we accept Jesus as our savior, we receive the Holy Spirit to guide us in our daily lives. 

We are witnesses of the grace of Jesus and the love of God and the comfort and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
