He Began a Good Work in You

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. — Philippians 1:6

We are confident in our Lord and Savior.

God, who began a good work in us, will carry it on to completion.

And He will continue that work until the day of Christ Jesus.

This week I gave my notice to my coworkers.

I'll be retiring as of August 1.

I'll miss this view from my office window.

And I'll miss many of the people.

But I'm ready to stop working so many hours away from my family.

And my 23-year-old coworker will be moving to South Korea to teach students in August, leaving our company as of July 30.

God is working His purpose out in me and in her.

Very exciting to see Him at work in our lives.

Carry Each Other's Burdens

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.— Galatians 6:2

My coworker who's going through a divorce offered to pray for us today.

She is struggling with custody battles and misses her girls when they're with they're dad.

But she was anxious to pray for me as well as for her needs.

I'm blessed to work with some wonderful people.

And my former coworker sent this photo of their family at the pumpkin patch in Oklahoma.

It hasn't felt much like fall here in San Diego with our warm weather.

But God has called us to carry each other's burdens.

So we lift up the needs of others to Him in intercessory prayer.

And He hears and answers us.

I Am He Who Will Sustain You

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. — Isaiah 46:4

Even as we grow older.

And as our hair turns gray, God will sustain us.

He has made us.

And He promises to carry us.

He will sustain us.

And He will rescue us.

After all, God is our Creator and Lord.

He loves and cares for us.

And He always keeps His promises.

He Who Began a Good Work in You Will Carry It On

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. — Philippians 1:6

We are confident in God's goodness and grace.

He has begun a good work in us.

And He will carry it on to completion.

The Lord will continue the good work until the day of Christ Jesus.

And we are grateful.

This is the beautiful Salamanca Cathedral in Spain.

Carry Each Other's Burdens

Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. — Galatians 6:2

God commands us to carry each other's burdens.

To pray for each other.

To encourage each other.

And to build each other up.

In this way we fulfill God's will for our lives.

And we fulfill the law of Christ Jesus.

And we show our obedience to God's commands.

These are the flowers that were a centerpiece at the wedding we attended yesterday.

How thoughtful that we got to bring them home.

A reminder of God's beautiful promises to us.

God Will Carry You

Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you. — Isaiah 46:4

God has promised to sustain me.

And He always keeps His promises.

No matter what I'm going through, I can remember that He has made me.

And He will carry me when I don't have the strength to go on.

He will rescue me when I get into trouble or head down the wrong path.

Even to my old age and gray hairs, God is with me.

I'm just blessed to have hair, after losing it all to cancer.

And it's come back just as full as ever. Amazing!

God has rescued me from illness, and He sustains me.

I am blessed and thankful.

He Began a Good Work in You

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. — Philippians 1:3

How comforting to know that God's work in me is not finished.

He will continue to work in my life daily.

And He will carry on His work until I am complete.

He will not give up on me.

Rather, He will continue the good work He has begun until the day Christ Jesus comes again.

I am thankful.

And blessed.

Desire to Do Good

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. — Romans 7:18

I have the desire to do what is good.

But I often do the opposite.

I want to spend more time in God's Word.

But I often run out of time by the end of the day.

I set aside time on Sunday, but other days seem to slip away.

Help me remember that You are the creator of my days.

Each of them belong to you.

They are just a gift to me as a loan.
