The Lord Supported Me

When I said, “My foot is slipping,” your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy. — Psalm 94:18-19

God's love supports me just when I need it most.

When my foot starts to slip, He is right beside me to keep me from falling.

His love is unfailing.

When I start to get anxious, the Lord consoles me.

He brings me joy!

For Me, to Live Is Christ

For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. — Philippians 1:21

Just as Jesus Christ was our advocate, so God's grace was much more than we deserved.

Thank goodness for His mercy and love.

This is the plumeria my friend gave us when she moved to Texas.

It wasn't doing very well, but Kirk nurtured it back to health.

And today's it's thriving.

God nurtures us back to spiritual health.

And for me, to live is Christ.

I Live By Faith in the Son of God

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:20

My coworker Aubree had her baby girls 3 months ago.

So a group of us walked over to the mall to hang out with her and Kya this week.

Meghan and I had a chance to hold her and watch her smile.

Even though she's too young to know yet, we have been crucified with Christ.

Now Jesus lives in me.

The life I live here on earth, I live by faith in Son of God.

He loved me and gave himself for me.

And for everyone.

Even the little ones who are just getting to know Him.

And He loves us still.

Abide in Jesus

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me." — John 15:4

God calls us to abide in Jesus.

Just as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself without the vine.

So I can't bear fruit unless I abide in Jesus.

Yesterday we celebrated the first day of spring.

Also called the vernal or spring equinox.

Hard to believe it's spring already!

The rain we've been having is causing the flowers to bloom.

And the flowers are gorgeous this year.

The grass is green, and the landscape is beautiful.

Glory to God.

Abide in Me

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches: He who abides in Me, and in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” — John 15:4-5

Jesus asks us to abide or remain in Him.

Just as a branch can't bear. much fruit by itself, it needs to be connected to the vine.

Otherwise, it will wither and die without a connection to it's life source.

When I'm not connected with God, I wither and die.

Without His nourishment, I dont' have the energy to go on.

But God wants me to bear much fruit.

Without Him I can do nothing.

Jesus WIll Come Back

Jesus said, “I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” — John 13:3

Jesus sits at the right hand of God the Father.

He rose again from the dead and said He was going to prepare a place for us.

One day, He tells us He will come back and take us with Him.

So that on that day we can live with Him in heaven.

What a wonderful promise!

His Song Is With Me

By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me — a prayer to the God of my life. — Psalm 42:8

Today we worshiped God and sang His praises.

Our guest pastor was from Egypt and gave a wonderful sermon about relying on God and trusting Jesus.

He explained the stories of the man possessed by legions, the woman who was sick for 12 years and was healed after touching Jesus' robe and Jairus' daughter who died after 12 years and was brought to life again.

Pastor Isaac William was an inspiration to help us understand that we too, should reach out to the isolated and hurting people around us just as Jesus did.

Our director of Ladle Fellowship also spoke about how Ladle has served the downtown community for 40 years now.

Last week a man appeared at our church who had received a cup of coffee from that new ministry back in 1983.

He had returned to thank us and bring us a can of coffee.

God is at work - He directs His love by day.

And at night His song is with me.

A prayer to the God of my life.

The God of All Mankind

I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? — Jeremiah 32:27

God is the Lord of all.

He is the God of all mankind.

Of all people.

He created the earth and everything in it.

Is anything too hard for Him?

No, nothing.

He is omniscient and omnipotent.

Here are some creatively decorated trees on the way to the park up the street from our house.

Very clever!

I Have Been Crucified With Christ

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. — Galatians 2:20

I live by faith in Jesus.

He love me and gave himself for me.

I have been crucified with Christ.

The life I live in the body, I live by faith in Him.

During this time of Lent, we thank God for Jesus.

And for the sacrifice He made for me personally.

You Are My Strength

But you, Lord, do not be far from me. You are my strength; come quickly to help me. — Psalm 22:19

God is my strength.

He is never far from me.

When I call out to Him, He answers.

He comes quickly to help me when I call.

At times He has me wait for His timing.

He is my strength and my song.

You Would Know My Father

Jesus replied. “If you knew me, you would know my Father also.”  — John 8:19

Jesus is God's Son.

If we know Him, we also know His Father.

When we follow Jesus, He guides us into a relationship with His Father, God.

He reminds us that the true meaning of Christmas is the birth of Jesus.

We praise Him for His sacrificial love.for us.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!

You Have Searched Me, Lord

You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. — Psalm 139:1

God has searched me, and He knows me.

He knows my coming and my going.

He knit me together in my mother's womb.

God counts every hair on my head.

He cares for me more than the flowers.

He guides me through life.

God's Goodness

What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me? — Psalm 116:12

God's goodness is endless.

He has blessed me over and over.

In spite of the wrong things I say and do.

He continues to guide and direct me.

To lead me in the path toward Him.

What shall I give Him for all His goodness to me?

He needs nothing.

All He asks is for my obedience.

That I glorify Him with my words and actions.

Help me, Lord, to follow You.

Jesus Took Hold of Me

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. — Philippians 3:12

Christ Jesus took hold of me and turned me around to start heading in the right direction.

I have in no way arrived at my goal yet.

But I press on.

I take hold of that for which Jesus took hold of me.

I am grateful that He holds me.

And that He gave His life for me.

I Am Glad and Rejoice

I am glad and rejoice with all of you. So you too should be glad and rejoice with me. — Philippians 2:17-18

I am glad and rejoice with my friends and family.

We rejoice in the Lord together.

I burst into song praising Him for His great love.

You, too, should be glad.

We should rejoice in the Lord together.

I am the Lord, and there is no other; apart from me there is no God. I will strengthen you, though you have not acknowledged me, so that from the rising of the sun to the place of its setting people may know there is none besides me. — Isaiah 45:5-6

Palm Desert Sunset
God is Lord, and there is no other.

Apart from Him there is no God.

He gives me strength to get through any trials that come my way.

My Bible study group is reading Pilgrim's Progress right now.

Reading about the Hill of Difficulty that Christian climbs and the people he meets who try to take the easy path of Destruction or avoid the narrow way is very humbling.

I often act that way, too.

Even so, God gives me strength, forgiving me when I don't acknowledge Him.

From the rising of sun to its setting, people may know there is none besides Him.

God Helps Me

Do not be far from me, my God; come quickly, God, to help me. — Psalm 71:12

Mint in Our Garden
Today Kirk and I weeded the garden, trimmed back the mint, and cut back the ice plant.

Our apple tree is budding happily.

Now it has room to continue growing.

Kirk made the trip to Home Depot, braved the crowds, and picked up some fertilizer.

He also picked up a tomato plant for our garden.

I'll plant it tomorrow.

Last year I was too tired from chemo to do any regular planting.

This year I'm looking forward to veggies from the garden.

God came quickly to help me when I called to him.

I Sing in the Shadow of Your Wings

Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your right hand upholds me. — Psalm 63:7-8

Cowles Mountain Waterfall

It has been raining now for the past few days.

Parts of the county are flooding.

And a waterfall is pouring down the side of Cowles Mountain.

We are blessed to have a strong roof over our heads.

Hearing the rain come down at night is like a sleeping remedy.

I just wished I had planted some tomatoes a few weeks ago so they could enjoy the rain, too.

My mint is going crazy, growing all over our garden.

God has overwhelmed us and cared for us and we are grateful.

Desire to Do Good

For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. — Romans 7:18

I have the desire to do what is good.

But I often do the opposite.

I want to spend more time in God's Word.

But I often run out of time by the end of the day.

I set aside time on Sunday, but other days seem to slip away.

Help me remember that You are the creator of my days.

Each of them belong to you.

They are just a gift to me as a loan.
