To Him Be Glory

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. — Ephesians 3:21-22 


God's power is at work in us.

To the Lord be the glory in the church.

And through Christ Jesus throughout all generations.

Here's the high cross we hiked to see in Portugal.

This is near Pena Palace.

The original cross was destroyed, so this is a replica.

And the vista from the top is amazing.

We Walk in the Name of the Lord

All the nations may walk  in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever. — Micah 4:5 

Today is the summer solstice.

How fitting on the first day of summer to remember and thank our Creator.

Nations around the world are turning to gods of stone and brass and crystal.

To gods of money, fame, power and riches.

Trying to outdo their neighbors with worldly wealth.

But we are choosing to walk in the name of the Lord our God.

This is a choice we make daily.

But our desire is to honor the Lord, not ourselves.

This is the National Cathedral.

A reminder of the Lord God, who we serve.

To God be the glory!

Praise and Honor and Glory

Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!” — Revelation 5:13


Today, the last day of 2022, we praise God for His glory.

He has brought us to the end of another year.

To the beginning of a new one.

And to new life in Him through Jesus His Son.

To Him be praise and honor, glory and power.

He is worthy of our praise.

And we are undeserving of His blessings.

God Has Established His Precepts

All his precepts are trustworthy. They are established for ever and ever, enacted in faithfulness and uprightness. — Psalm 111:7-8 

The Lord's precepts are trustworthy.

God has established them for ever.

He has enacted them in faithfulness.

And has shown us His righteousness.

He is faithful.

God Is My Strong Refuge

I will ever praise you. You are my strong refuge. My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long. — Psalm 71:6-8

I have been working at home for the past three weeks.

But my hours have been long.

It has been stressful to keep my team motivated and get everything done that we need to accomplish.

Even so, I am blessed to have a good job and a regular paycheck.

When we go outside, we get to look at beautiful roses blooming in our courtyard.

I know many others are not nearly as fortunate.

God has blessed our family, and we are grateful.

My mouth is filled with God's praise.

I declare His splendor all day long in my words and deeds.

His Power At Work Within Us

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. — Ephesians 2:20-21


God is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.

God's power is at work within us.

To God be glory in the church.

And to God be glory in Christ Jesus

God is with us throughout all generations.

To God be the glory for ever and ever.

So be it! Amen.

Honor and Glory to God

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. — 1 Timothy 1:17

Sunday I was catching up with a friend who finished her treatment for breast cancer last summer.

She is doing great, with her only side effect night sweats from the Tamoxifen she is taking.

I occasionally have sweats from the Arimidex that I'm taking, but not very often.

My main side effect now is brittle fingernails from the Herceptin. 

So I am trying to eat eggs regularly to help strengthen them.

Another friend just celebrated 5 years of being cancer free!

I think my brother Steve is close to that milestone, too. 

Honor and glory be to God for ever and ever.
