Godly Sorrow Brings Repentance and Salvation

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. — 2 Corinthians 7:10

Godly sorrow encourages us to confess our sins and repent.

This type of sadness pushes us to turn around and start moving toward God.

We don't have any lingering regrets when we confess our sin to God.

In fact, this confession leads to salvation.

Just one part of God's great plan for us, His people.

Worldly sorrow brings death, because it goes with unrepentance and selfishness.

Putting our worldly selves before God.

Turning away from Him rather than toward Jesus.

Help me, Lord, to turn toward You today.

Quietness and Trust

This is what the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength. — Isaiah 30:15

Our salvation is in repentance.

And our relationship with God grows with rest.

Our strength is in quietness and trust in God.

This is what the Lord says.

He is the Holy One of Israel.

And He loves us.

We are still finishing up the beautiful cupcakes Abby made me for Mother's Day.

Yum.
