Live Godly Lives

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. — Titus 2:11-12 

God's grace has appeared to us through His Son, Jesus.

He offers salvation to all people.

Salvation teaches us to say "no" to worldly passions.

And to live self-controlled and godly lives.

Even in this present age.

Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel

This is what the Lord says— your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. — Isaiah 48:17 

God tells us he is our Redeemer.

The Holy One of Israel.

His is the Lord our God.

He teaches us what is best for us.

The Lord directs us in the ways we should go.

This Sunday we had a wonderful preacher, Andrea.

She reminded us to show gratitude each day to God.

He alone is deserving of our praise.

This Is What the Lord Says

Today is our daughter's 25th birthday!

It's hard to believe it's been 25 years since we had her just down the street at Kaiser.

She now has her masters degree and enjoys her job as an enrollment counselor.

Her college friend will be here in a couple of weeks to visit from Spokane.

And we're headed out to dinner at a French restaurant in Coronado to celebrate.

Her coworkers brought festive red velvet cupcakes for her at work this week.

And Kirk and I picked up this cute chocolate mousse cake at Flour Power.

Our friends brought us yellowtail tuna that he caught a few weeks ago.

God directs us in the way we should go and teaches us what is best for us.

We are blessed!

God Teaches Us the Right Way

His God instructs him and teaches him the right way. All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent. — Isaiah 28:26, 29

God really does instruct us.

He teaches me the right way.

Today I had the unpleasant task of letting someone go at work.

It was very draining, but it was the right thing to do.

My employee had not been going in the right way.

It's hard to see someone heading down the wrong path.

I asked God for wisdom to handle the situation and He, of course, provided.

Now I'm exhausted but very thankful that he continues to teach me to do right.

Kirk made us a delicious chicken fried rice dinner — a wonderful way to end the evening.

His plan is wonderful.

His wisdom is magnificent.

God Directs Me

Today I had my third radiation treatment at UCSD Moores Cancer Center.

Just 18 more days to go.

God directs me in the way I should go.

I don't always go the way He directs, but when I do, I realize that God knows what is best for me.

Just as he cares for our flowers, with Kirk's help, God cares for us.

He loves us and teaches us what is best.
