Jesus got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. — Luke 5:3
Today is Martin Luther King Junior Day, when we celebrate his life and legacy.
In the book of Luke, Jesus got into a boat to teach the people.
Martin Luther King also shared the Gospel with people.
He taught them about God's love and the saving grace of Jesus.
And he taught them to care about others, similar to the way the Good Samaritan took care of the stranger who was left at the side of the road.
Help us, Lord, to do the same.
