Follow God's Example

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. — Ephesians 5:1-2

As dearly loved children, God calls us to follow His exmple.

And walk in the ways of love.

Just as Christ love us.

He gave Himself up for us.

A fragrant, scented offering.

And a sacrifice to God.

All for us.

Follow God's Example

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love. — Ephesians 5:1

Tonight I headed down for choir after work.

When I arrived, the parking lot was almost empty.

Kate and Felipe were the only ones there.

We guessed that we had missed the email telling us that choir was canceled.

Our choir director just had a new baby boy.

We guessed that he needed a night off now that he has three children.

Here I am visiting the zoo last week with Abby.

A great place to bring the kids.

So thankful that God created families.

Be An Example

Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young, but be an example for other believers in your speech, behavior, love, faithfulness, and purity.— 1 Timothy 4:12

Sometimes a child expresses God's Word best.

They keep it simple and get right to the point.

And they point us back to God's expectation for us to come to Him with a childlike openness.

Help to be open and honest with you today, Lord.

Give me a child-like spirit ready to trust You.

My Antonia

I am using an example from everyday life because of your human limitations. Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. — Romans 6:19

On Thursday, I will meet with my book club on zoom.

After that, we'll have choir via zoom.

The book we are reading is My Antonia by Willa Cather.

It gives an interesting glimpse of Nebraska fields and life on the American prairie.

Willa Cather moved to Nebraska when she was just ten years old.

So she writes this novel with a first-hand look at life in Nebraska in the late 1800s.

Dearly Loved Children

Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. — Ephesians 5:1

Sunday my friend Mari made me some delicious emapaƱadas.

She also gave me some holiday coffee made by a pastor friend of hers as a fundraiser.

What a wonderful combination.

Mari and her husband walk in the way of love and bless me with their friendship.

My friend Mariley does the same.

We met for lunch last week.

She has been praying for me since I was first diagnosed with cancer.

And she has been supporting me and encouraging me along my journey.

Even sharing her personal story with me and how she has overcome cancer herself.

These friends walk in the way of love, showering me with their blessings and care.

As dearly loved children, God also showers us with His love.

Even giving himself up for us.

Christ loves us and offered himself for our sakes. Wow!
