The Lord Is Awesome

For the Lord Most High is awesome, the great King over all the earth. — Psalm 47:2

This was the venue for the wedding we went to on Saturday.

Located in the Beacon Hill Events area of Spokane.

While there we also toured Abby's alma mater, Whitworth University.

And we flew home yesterday on a flight with 7 other guests from the wedding.

The beautiful scenery was a reminder that the Lord is awesome.

God Most High is our creator.

He is the great King over all the earth.

And He created my sister, Becky, whose birthday we celebrate today!

Jesus Is Coming Soon

You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end. — Luke 1:32-33

The angel spoke these words to Mary.

She was probably just a teenager.

And yet she agreed and said that she would obey the Lord.

As a result, the. Son of God was born in a manger.

Shepherds celebrated His birth.

He Whose Name Is Holy

For this is what the high and exalted One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy: “I live in a high and holy place but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite. — Isaiah 57:15

Today is the first day of August.

Yesterday got up to the high 80s.

But we had a fun time in Solana Beach, celebrating our friend Nancy's 95th birthday.

A very fun time reconnecting with friends.

And enjoying delicious food.

And talking about our next road trip to Paso Robles.

Possibly visiting Dao vineyards again.

Thanking God for friends and wonderful times together.

High Priest of the Good Things

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things having come, He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made by hands, that is, not of this creation. — Hebrews 9:11

Jesus appeared as our high priest.

He took the punihsment that we deserved.

He became our mediator between God and us.

He bridges the gap between God's
holiness and my sin.

Here is the waterfall we hiked to last month.

Last weekend my coworker hiked here and the water was down to a trickle.

When he  and his wife arrived, there were only a few other people there.

But there were several king snakes swimming in the water.

So glad we missed them.

We Have a High Priest

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens. — Hebrews 8:1

Jesus is our high priest.

He sits on the right hand of God the Father.

Who reigns in heaven.

The majesty of our Lord.

From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

His kingdom shall have no end.
