The Lord Will Be King Over the Whole Earth

The Lord will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one Lord, and his name the only name. — Zechariah 14:9

It's already July 1!

Hard to believe.

Yesterday marked the 12th anniversary of our Pastor Jeff and his wife Greta.

And it was also the day 68 years ago that Kirk's mom and dad were married.

Here they are after the ceremony.

The wedding took place at the Catholic church in Spencer, Iowa.

Then they headed over the United Methodist Church for the reception.

We miss them both!

The Lord is king over the whole earth.

There is only one Lord.

And one Savior — out Lord Jesus.

On the day He returns, there will be proclamations about His majesty.

On that day, His name will be the only name in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

God Showed His Love For Us

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. — 1 John 4:9

God showed His love among us.

He sent His one and only Son Jesus into the world.

So that we might live through Him.

Jesus, our Savior.

Kirk met with some of his friends from high school today: Ernie, Manuel, Josie, and Joe.

Friends for life!

My Eyes Are On the Lord

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. My eyes are ever on the Lord, for only he will release my feet from the snare. — Psalm 25:14-15

God confides in those of us who esteem, revere, and fear Him.

He makes His covenant known to us.

By sending His Son Jesus to save us from sin.

Whenever I see a rainbow in the sky, it reminds me of His covenant.

His love and care for me.

And He always keeps His promises to me.

My eyes are always on the Lord.

Only He will release my feet from the devil's snare.

He will guide my feet along the path of freedom.

God So Loved the World

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16

Today was Kirk's birthday.

And our friend Ralph's memorial service.

After the service we walked down to the harbor and had lunch at the Brigantine.

A beautiful day. And our table was right by the window, overlooking the water.

This was our view.

After lunch, we walked back to the church.

Then we went back to the church in the evening for a symphony concert.

A fun day with friends.

Jesus, the One and Only Son

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known. — John 1:18

Yesterday we celebrated Kirk's birthday.

We went to a wonderful Greek restaurant with friends.

The food was delicious, and so was the Dao wine they brought to share with us.

I had scallops wrapped in prosciutto and horseradish mashed potatoes.

Peggy had salmon on a delicious beet risotto.

Kirk had chicken picatta.

We were stuffed by the end of the evening.

And we even ran into some former coworkers there.

What a fun evening.

A wonderful start to the weekend.

God So Loved Us

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. — John 3:16

Happy Valentine's Day!

Today my team at Axos Bank is celebrating one of our coworkers who is expecting his first baby.

We will decorate onesies and hold a surprise baby shower for him.

He and his wife are waiting to be surprised by whether they are having a girl or a boy.

They do not want to find out beforehand.

Kirk and I did the same with Abby.

What a wonderful surprise to discover we had a new baby girl!
