Praise the Lord, My Soul

Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits — Psalm 103:1-2

Praise the Lord!

He helps us through stressful times.

He hears and answers our prayers.

Yesterday I made a job offer to one of our writer candidates.

If she exceptes, I'll have just two positions still available.

My colleague also made an offer to her social media opening.

We said a prayer of thanks together for God's goodness.

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness.

And for His love.

Earnestly I Seek God

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water. — Psalm 63:1

God is my God.

I try to look for Him earnestly each day.

Often I completely miss the mark.

Even so, I thirst for Him.

My whole being longs for Him.

In a dry and parched land, it often feels there is no water.

Here we are at the zoo last year for our friend's wedding.

This year she's expecting her first baby.

Our friends Mark and Rachel celebrate their 11-year anniversary yesterday and today.

Another story.

Very exciting.

God is great!

The Son Is the Radiance of God's Glory

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. — Hebrews 1:3

He is risen! He is risen indeed.

Jesus is the radiance of God's glory.

He is the exact representation of God the Father.

And He sustains all things by His powerful word.

After Jesus purified us from our sins, He sat down at the right hand of God.

Although He died, He came alive again.

And He reigns with his Father in heaven.

You Created My Inmost Being

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. — Psalm 139:13

God knew me before I was born.

He created my inmost being.

He knit me together in my mother's womb.

And He counts the number of hairs on my head.

Yesterday was my fourth anniversary working at Axos Bank.

My coworkers decorated my desk with white balloons and crepe paper streamers.

What a fun surprise!

We Do Not Lose Heart

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. — 2 Corinthians 4:16

Last night was the summer solstice.

So today is the official first day of summer.

The sun is shining and the birds are singing.

And today is Father's Day.

We are looking forward to spending time together to celebrate.

Though we are wasting away on the outside, we are being renewed inside each day.

I Thirst for God

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you. — Psalm 63:1

Potomac River
God is my God.

He watches out for me.

He has my back, even when I feel alone.

I seek Him in earnest.

When I read His Scripture, He fills me with His words of hope, conviction, and love.

My whole being longs for Him and His presence with me each day.

I thirst for Him as if I'm stranded in a desert without water.

And He fills me up with His Spirit, His Word, and His Presence.

Jesus Sustains All Things

The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. —Hebrews 1:3

God is our Creator and our Father.

Jesus shows us God's glory.

He is the exact representation of God.

Jesus was there at the beginning of the world.

The Holy Spirit hovered over the Waters.

Jesus sustains all things by His powerful Word.

All of creation shows the power of God.

Birthday Celebration

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. — Psalm 139:13

Yesterday was Abby's birthday.

Kirk and I remember the day we brought her home from the hospital.

We are blessed to have her home with us while she begins graduate school.

Here's the cake I made in celebration.

Her sweet coworker, Wendy Bogan, made cupcakes.

Her friend Hannah made a cake!

God is good.

He has overwhelmed our family with His goodness beyond measure.

Today I had my fourth radiation treatment.

Tomorrow I will also visit with my radiation doctor.

Apparently that will be a weekly occurrence.

And tomorrow night we start our new season of choir rehearsals.

It will be fun to reconnect with friends and to sing God's praises together.
