You Knit Me Together in My Mother' Womb

You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. — Psalm 139:13-14

Flowers from Kirk
God created me from the inside out.

He knit together my bones.

And He created me according to His marvelous plan.

I praise Him.

He took care with His creation and has made me wonderfully.

All humans have faults, but God is perfect.

All His works are wonderful.

I know that full well.

You Created My Inmost Being

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. — Psalm 139:13

God knew me before I was born.

He created my inmost being.

He knit me together in my mother's womb.

And He counts the number of hairs on my head.

Yesterday was my fourth anniversary working at Axos Bank.

My coworkers decorated my desk with white balloons and crepe paper streamers.

What a fun surprise!

Encourage One Another

After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words. — 1 Thessalonians 4:17-18

During this time of anxiety and divisiveness, it's easy to get caught up in our own world.

I find myself defending my position and not listening to those who feel differently.

But God calls us to encourage each other.

Even if we disagree.

Especially with our enemies.

And to do it with His Word.

What a concept!

Help me, Lord, to obey You.

The Peaceful Kingdom

The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid, and the calf and the lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. — Isaiah 11:6

In this new year of 2020, we are thanking God for His promises.

We look forward to the time when God's peaceable kingdom will come to fruition.

The wolf will dwell with the lamb.

The leopard will lie down with the kid.

The calf, the lion and the fatling together.

And a little child will lead them.

While people often are unable to keep their promises, God always keeps His promises.

He never failed me yet.

Thank you, Lord, for the new year!

Birthday Celebration

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. — Psalm 139:13

Yesterday was Abby's birthday.

Kirk and I remember the day we brought her home from the hospital.

We are blessed to have her home with us while she begins graduate school.

Here's the cake I made in celebration.

Her sweet coworker, Wendy Bogan, made cupcakes.

Her friend Hannah made a cake!

God is good.

He has overwhelmed our family with His goodness beyond measure.

Today I had my fourth radiation treatment.

Tomorrow I will also visit with my radiation doctor.

Apparently that will be a weekly occurrence.

And tomorrow night we start our new season of choir rehearsals.

It will be fun to reconnect with friends and to sing God's praises together.

Off to the Fair

If you love me, keep my commands. — John 14:15

This afternoon, I'll leave work early so Abby and I can go to the San Diego County Fair together.

Here we are back in 2016 at the fair, when we ran into our friend Sandy and her daughter Ana at the Alice in Wonderland exhibit.

This year the theme is the Wizard of Oz. That should be a fun one, too.

We enjoy trying some of the food, looking at the woodworking and art exhibits, checking out the yearbooks, watching the pig races, giving our opinions on the landscape competition, and going on the Ferris wheel and the skyride across the fair.

Abby hopes to try a fried Twinkie in memory of her grandpa.

Sometimes they have some good bands playing during the day.

Whatever we do, it will be a fun afternoon just hanging out together.

Kirk will be golfing with one of his buddies.

We are blessed with special times together, doing things we enjoy.
