Let Us Be Thankful

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe. — Hebrews 12:28

God's kingdom is one that cannot be shaken.

Therefore, we are thankful.

We love and serve God with reverence.

And so we worship God with awe.

We are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

And we are praising God for His mercy and love.

I Keep My Eyes on the Lord

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8

The Lord is with me.

I keep my eyes on Him each day.

No matter what comes my way, I can rely on Him to guide me.

With God at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

He has my back!

I Will Not Be Shaken

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8

Even when storms come our way, we won't be shaken.

Because God is at our side.

Whether storms are literal or figurative, we can keep our eyes on the Lord.

When He's at my right hand, I can keep going.

And I can get through the storms, knowing that he's at my side.

Even when the strong winds blow, I won't be shaken.

I Will Not Be Shaken

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8

This week we discovered that our friend Marion's daughter was shaken with a diagnosis of Stage 4 breast cancer that has metastasized.

She is still recovering from spine surgery and now has to face this horrible news.

We are praying for her family and medical team that they will find the best treatment options for her.

Right now it appears that radiation and a chemo pill will be the protocol.

We are also praying for Lila's healing and comfort and wisdom during this time.

The prognosis is about six years - she's just 40.

So we are also praying for a good quality of life and longer life than expected.

She moved to Ohio and bought a home near her mom last year.

God's timing is perfect.

I keep my eyes always on the Lord.

With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken, even though I may be shaken by worldly cares.

God Is My Rock

Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. — Psalm 62:2

Yes, really.

God is my Rock.

He is my Salvation.

He is my Fortress.

And my Protector.

As long as I remember that, I will never be shaken.

When I'm shaken by the world around me.

By people I know getting sick from covid.

God is my Rock.

I will never be shaken when I turn to Him.

I Will Not Be Shaken

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8

I don't always keep my eyes on the Lord.

But when I do, He helps me stand firm.

With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

This is the classroom Kirk had last year before he retired.

The globe his mom gave him is on the shelf in the corner.

He forgot to bring it home, but he's glad the new teacher was able to put it to good use.

The posters are some of the ones his colleague Mary gave Kirk years ago.

Kirk left them for his colleague, the new seventh grade teacher.

He was very appreciative.

We are so glad Kirk is retired.

Unfailing Love

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,” says the Lord, who has compassion on you. — Isaiah 54:10

God's unfailing love for us will not be shaken.

The Lord's covenant of peace will not be removed

God has compassion on me.

He is the stable rock even when the mountains shake.

Even when the hills are removed.

His love will not be removed from us.

My Eyes on the Lord

I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. — Psalm 16:8

God keeps me steady on my feet.

When I waver, He holds me up.

Through His Word and through the Christians around me, He upholds me with His right hand.

When I start to fall, He reminds me through His Spirit, that He is with me no matter what.

I am grateful.

I'm a Survivor

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. — Psalm 125:1

Yesterday one of Kirk's teacher friends gave me a Survivor necklace that a friend had given her when she went through chemo for cancer. I love it. Thanks to Kathy for her thoughtfulness!

On the back of the necklace is a collage of words:
The world is round and the places
which may seem like the end

may only be just the beginning.
Those of us who trust in the Lord are survivors. We are not shaken but endure even the hard trials knowing that God is with us to guide us each step of the way.

It reminds me of the song I'm a Survivor.

Today I will have my first chemo at 11:00. It will last about six hours so the nurses can make sure I'm not having adverse reactions to the meds.

Kirk, Abby and I will go to breakfast together in the morning so I have food in my stomach. Then they will alternate sitting with me and later will go to lunch together at our local restaurant, Troys. After they eat, they will bring lunch for me, too.

Liz and Peggy have offered to come sit with me too, during treatments. How wonderful to be surrounded by my family and wonderful friends.

Gratefully trusting in the Lord!
