Whoever Has the Son Has Life

Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. — 1 John 5:12 

This weekend we discovered that yet another acquaintance of ours has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

She visits her care team tomorrow to find out the exact diagnosis and perhaps the treatment plan.

Fortunately, she is a strong Christian and is at peace with God's provision for her life.

Even during this trying time of uncertainty.

She had no idea I'd gone through cancer that is now in remission.

And she quoted Scripture in response to my email.

As she said, "Psalm 31 has been a great encouragement to me as we are placing our hands in God's loving hands, resting in His perfect timing, and taking the next indicated steps."

Whoever has Jesus the Son has life.

Thankfully, Cathy has Jesus and so do I! 

We Hear What God Says

Whoever belongs to God hears what God says.  — John 8:47 

We belong to God.

He has adopted us as His children.

And He sent Jesus to die for our sins.

Jesus shed His blood as our living sacrifice.

Paying the price for our sins.

Thank. you, God, for your mercy on us.

God sent us Jesus to save us from sin.

Jesus was the pure sacrifice.

He gave his life so we can live with Him forever.

Jesus paid the price so we can have eternal life.

One day, we will live in heaven with Him.

Today I got an email from UCSD Health, where I had my radiation treatment.

They informed me that I'm eligible for the covid-19 booster.

I can get either the Pfizer or Moderna one - it doesn't matter which one I got originally.

So I'll be checking their website tomorrow to see what appointments are available.

California has a special Covid time off leave so I won't have to use my sick leave when I take time off to get the booster.

God has provided for our family.

Whoever Hears My Word and Believes

Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. — John 5:24

Whoever hears God's Word and believes it has eternal life.

Easter reminds us that when we believe in Jesus, we have everlasting life.

Because Jesus lives, we will live with Him again one day.

He has crossed over from death to life.

That gives us hope that one day we can do the same.

Jesus gives us life.

Without Him, we have no life.

On Friday, my former boss will retire.

I will miss her greatly.

I'll make scones to help her celebrate.
